Tom is a highly experienced professional musician. He plays in multiple local bands and has his own group, the Polymer Motive. I have been learning with Tom for several years and had the pleasure of dabbling in multiple disciplines thanks to his versatility.

He is especially skilled with guitar and percussion, though he can play a myriad of other instruments including but not limited to; bass guitar, trumpet, and piano. He also teaches vocal lessons, both clean and aggressive. His knowledge of music theory is also amazing.
I brought in a mandolin one day and he was able to help me learn additional chords and record an original song. He takes the time to master his instruments and gives tips and tricks to perfect precision and care for every single piece of equipment.

I personally have taken guitar, drum, vocal, and recording/production lessons with Tom. I could barely play an F chord on the guitar at our first meeting and have progressed to mastering barre chords, memorizing a considerable amount of the fretboard, learning a varierty of scales, and being able to jam along with my favorite songs.

Tom is also exceptional at arranging and composing music and had helped me turn my original songs into fully produced pieces of art.
Furthermore, Tom has given me tips on performing publicly. I was able to sing and play the guitar at my own wedding and for International Day of Music at my workplace.

I highly reccomend Tom for anyone who wants to grow as a musician. Regardless of age, musical interest, instrument choice, or current skill level, he will meet you where you are and help you level up to your dream goals. He takes pride in his work and genuinely enjoys it. His positive attitude and passionate support will carry you through your most difficult moments while learning.

I can’t recommend Tom highly enough! Before taking lessons with Tom, I had played guitar on and off for a few years. I knew some basic theory and would learn songs from tabs or YouTube, but really struggled to use what I knew in a practical way. Tom helped fill so many gaps in my knowledge and always presents new concepts in a musical context that makes them fun and engaging. Aside from theory, Tom is an extremely talented player in regard to his technical ability and deep understanding of melody, harmony, rhythm, and style. He genuinely enjoys and understands a wide range of musical genres, which I feel really helped tailor the lessons to my taste and develop the skills I needed to write in certain styles.

Tom has always had knowledge on basically anything I’ve ever wanted to focus on, whether it be learning a song, technique, or concept, and continues to develop his own skill set purely to accommodate my often obscure musical goals. I feel a deeper level of musical inspiration and appreciation because of how easily we can connect and nerd out over the same things. Tom has the most professional and easygoing vibe, is always prepared for our lessons, and has a clear vision for my learning path. His passion for music and new knowledge is genuine and infectious.
